Really? What shady, uncool back road did this show turn down, seeking death and torture of the worst imaginable?
Where does one begin? Let’s preface by stating that I was not a die hard fan of this show until its fourth season, and yes, I am embarrassed to admit that it took me so damn long. However, in hindsight, I was more than overjoyed to be able to fly through seasons 1-4 [via DVD] without having to worry “if the show might get canceled.” That was a sweet deal, in my humble opinion, what with how fast TV shows come and go these days.
Moving forward - I began an instant obsession with all things Tom Welling [yes, including The shitty Fog] and still to this day love that beautiful man. The seasons were interesting, the dynamic between characters remained strong and thought provoking, and an all around good feeling emanated that couldn’t be reproduced elsewhere. Things were great.
That was until Lana wasn’t killed off. That was until Clark and Chloe haven’t been between the sheets in almost 7 years still. That was until the Lionel prowess continues and Lex’s fight for “better than you-dom” got wildly out of hand. Honestly people, I could go on and ON but I won’t drown my sorrows and woes of what once was to prove a point. Watch for yourself; see how craptastic and utterly stupid the “plot-lines” and character developments have become.
I’m saddened, but what’s worse? I’m let down. I’ve watched fan videos, I’ve watched DVD extras where the creators [of the show] swear they hear their fan base pleas for this or that, but does anything actually change? Since I’ve been watching, the only absolute constant that shines through is this: Miles and Gough [writers, creators, etc.] do the complete opposite of what we want to see happen to our beloved. Oh, but they bring back Pete [soon], introduce Super Girl, and return Oliver Queen. Neat. Now that you have this powerful and what is assurdely the most defined base of characters + potential badass-edness, the only shaky factor remains: What will they do with it? [And should I stock up on tissues for the imminent death of a great show, once everything crumbles to dust?]
I will forever stay a fan of the show, but refrain from proclaiming as such, simply to save face retain a “cool” reputation in the world of TV show fandoms. Speaking of which…have ya’ll seen Supernatural?
Now that is a damn good show. Its actors are perhaps, the most beautiful kinds of life currently walking the planet. Story and plot lines full and consistent [read: interesting], and from my standpoint - the best show on TV.
For now - take it all with a carton of rock salt [watch Supernatural, get the inside joke] and sound off on your opinions. I’m open to any and all kinds of discussions in regards to the topic at hand. =)

I agree completely. Smallville has turned into more of a show about how many ways they can possibly kill a character (but never actually kill them) and what kinds of new special fx the visual effects team wanted to try.
Supernatural for the win!
